Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals
The Christian faith is integral to the whole of life and St Paul’s are privileged to be involved in walking with families through life’s most precious and challenging times. Whether through baptism in the first steps of faith, at the start of a new marriage, or the death of a loved one, our staff team and pastoral team are available to you. There is more information on this page or email us if you would like to speak to someone.
Baptism is a sign of the beginning of a persons life following Jesus and joining his church. Whether you decide to follow Jesus as an adult, or you’re born into a believing family, baptism is a celebration of everything God has done and will do.
If you want to find out more about who Jesus is and what it means to follow him, then join us at Alpha.
Some parents may wish to mark the birth of their children, but don’t feel that baptism is the right choice for them, we also offer prayers of thanksgiving.
Both baptisms and prayers of thanksgiving take place within our weekly Sunday services at 9am, 11am and 7pm. For more information join us on Sunday or contact us via email.
Baptisms
As part of the Church of England, St Paul’s is able to host the marriages of those who worship with us regularly, those who live in our parish and others with a close pastoral connection with the church.
As you plan your marriage ceremony, you can find lots of helpful information here, but if you have any questions or you’re ready to talk to someone about your service, please email us.
Banns
If you are planning to get married in another Church of England church, but you live in St Paul’s parish, then you may need to have your “banns read” with us. If this is the case or if you want to find out then please contact us, and we’ll be happy to help.
Weddings
Members of the St Paul’s ministry team are available to lead funeral and memorial services for members of the congregation, those who live in our parish and those with a connection with the church.
These take place both in St Paul’s building and at local crematoriums or cemeteries. More information can be found on the Church Of England website here. The initial contact can be made either through the Church Office or via the funeral director.
In Loving Memory…
We invite all those who have lost someone that they love to our annual “In Loving Memory…” service, this is usually held in November.
